Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Braud Gauge is run by Braud Gauge Educational Products and Services Private Limited (CIN U85410MP2023PTC068445), registered office: C/o Rajesh Tiwari, Gauri Dham Colony, Makronia Camp, Sagar 470004, Madhya Pradesh, India (“we”, “us”). Contact: BraudGauge@gmail.com. Grievance Officer: Aditya Tiwari (section 10).
2. In short
- To create an account we ask for two things: your email address (to sign you in) and your age (kept behind the scenes and used purely inside the app to set your starting level and difficulty), plus a password you choose.
- We do not engage in behavioural tracking, user profiling, targeted advertising or data monetisation. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we use no advertising, analytics or tracking tools.
- You can delete your account, and with it your profile, age and progress, at any time from your account settings.
3. Learning without an account
You can use Braud Gauge as a guest. Your progress, settings and the name or nickname you give are then kept only in your browser’s storage on your device; we cannot see them. The age you give when you start is used once, on your device, to pick your starting level, and only whether you are under 18 or an adult is kept. Clearing your browser’s data for this site deletes all of it.
4. What we keep for an account
- Email address, to sign you in and send the emails in section 6.
- Password, stored only as a one-way hash by our authentication provider; we never see it.
- Age in years, and that you confirmed you are 18 or over. Self-declared; we do not verify it. See section 5.
- Your progress: lessons and stars, skills, badges, streaks, XP, coins, in-game items and quests, and for each exercise whether you got it right, how many tries and how long it took (not the text of your answers). This is what saves your progress and keeps exercises at the right level. That adjustment happens only inside the app, to deliver the lessons. For a chess unit game you finish, we keep its result (win, draw or loss, how it ended and how many moves you played); its moves are sent once, to check the game, and are not kept. The chess engine you play against runs on your device.
- The name or nickname you chose, if you add a device’s guest progress to your account. It does not need to be your real name.
- Technical records: when you signed up and last signed in (kept by our authentication provider), and your IP address, used briefly to limit repeated attempts and by our hosting provider when your browser loads a page.
We do not collect payment details, your location, contacts, photos or identity documents.
If you join the weekly leaderboard
The weekly leaderboard is optional. Nothing about you appears on it unless you choose to join, and you can leave at any time.
- What others see: the nickname you choose for the leaderboard, your XP that week, your place and your league. Only the other learners in your group see it: at most 30 people in the same league that week. They never see your email address, your age, the name you gave Brio or the rest of your progress.
- What we keep: your nickname and, for each week you take part, your group, your time zone (used only to work out your Monday-to-Sunday week), your XP that week and your final place. Your weekly XP comes from the progress we already keep for your account.
- Groups: you are placed in a group when you first earn XP in a week, with other learners in your league. We never add made-up players. Each week’s results are fixed on Tuesday at 00:00 UTC.
- How long: each week’s results are deleted 12 weeks after they are fixed. If you leave, your nickname is deleted at once and you are removed from the current week; your results in weeks already fixed stay, without your nickname, until they are deleted. Deleting your account deletes all of it at once.
- Nicknames must not be offensive or contain personal details such as your real name, email or phone number. We may reset a nickname that breaks this rule.
5. How we use your age
We collect and keep your age purely for in-app level adaptation and difficulty setting: it sets your starting level, that is, how difficult your first exercises are. After the first few answers, exercises adapt only to how you answer, not to your age. When you give your age, we also check it once to confirm that you can have an account (section 9). Your age is not used for ad targeting or cross-site behavioural profiling, nor for behavioural tracking, user profiling or any form of data monetisation, and we never sell or share it.
6. Emails
- Essential emails are sent automatically: confirming your email address and resetting your password, and, if we ever need to, a message about your account’s security.
- Optional emails are strictly opt-in. We do not send any optional updates or reminders today. If we add them, they will be off unless you turn them on in your settings, and you can turn them off at any time.
7. Who processes data for us
- Supabase runs our sign-in and database; account data is stored in its Mumbai, India region.
- Resend sends our emails, so it receives your email address and the email’s content.
- Vercel hosts the website and receives technical information such as your IP address.
We share personal data only with these providers, to run the service, and where the law requires it, and, if you join the weekly leaderboard, your nickname and weekly XP with the learners in your group (section 4). Some may process data outside India.
8. Cookies, storage and security
We use only strictly necessary cookies: the sign-in session cookies that keep you signed in, which page scripts cannot read and which signing out removes, and a security cookie our hosting provider may set to block automated traffic. We use no analytics, advertising, tracking or other optional cookies. Your browser’s storage holds guest progress and settings. Connections are encrypted, each account can read only its own data (apart from what learners choose to show on the leaderboard), and progress and rewards are written only by our servers. No system is perfectly secure; please report any problem to BraudGauge@gmail.com.
9. Children
Accounts are only for people aged 18 and over; sign-up refuses a younger age. Anyone younger can learn as a guest, with their data kept only on their own device (section 3). If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will delete it.
10. Your control, and complaints
- Delete everything: “Delete my account” in your account settings (You → your account) permanently removes your account, profile, age and progress from our database at once. Progress kept in your browser stays there until you clear it.
- Get a copy: “Download my data” on the same page.
- Leave the leaderboard: “Leave the leaderboard” on the Leaderboard page deletes your nickname and removes you from this week’s group at once.
- Correct something, or ask a question: write to BraudGauge@gmail.com.
Complaints: our Grievance Officer, Aditya Tiwari, at BraudGauge@gmail.com. We will respond within one month. The law where you live may give you further rights.
11. Changes
We will update this page when our practices change, and tell account holders about significant changes before they take effect.
